What is the perfect shampoo? This question is asked by man, but what makes the perfect shampoo the perfect shampoo? What distinguishes a good from a bad shampoo?
What are the important criteria?
When evaluating a shampoo most people look at the price,
or whether it smells and feels good. Is it easy to rinse it out of your hair and does the hair feels clean afterwards.
You can only assess the quality of a hair shampoo and conditioner after you’ve used it a few times. Is
your hair soft, static, easy to comb or brush, shiny or
dull? Does it keeps its color, is your scalp itchy or irritated?
Advertising
Everyone has seen the advertising of all those people in the shower, they look so happy covered with white foaming shampoo. These adds have given people the idea that much foam and is good, intrinsically encouraging people to use more shampoo….
Normally that abundance of foam shows proves that you are using to much!
Or that too much soap or wash-active components were used in the manufacturing process..
Considering that a shampoo is used to wash grease and dirt out of your hair, they have to contain a soapy type of cleaning agent. Be careful though as some of these components can cause irritation and dryness for some people.
A great alternative is the use of organic and natural shampoo. There are several reputable companies offering natural hair care products. Or even consider making your own. There are a lot of recipes freely available on the internet.
Who chooses which hair shampoo
• Have your predisposition to allergies, choose an all organic shampoo with a simple ingredients and without many chemical additions
• If you have sensitive skin, or you are suffering from dandruff or eczema, choose an extra mild shampoo.
• Do you wash your hair very often, e.g. if you do a lot of sports of swimming then opt for a mild shampoo.
• Have you any particular problem with your scalp you can choose a shampoo with added features.
How often do you wash your hair?
On average two times per week should be plenty.
The more foam the cleaner your hair?
Yes, but as a foaming shampoo very often means that there is much soap in it. This dries out your hair, splits ends and can cause tangles and it can lead to excess fat production. Also have a read above on my views of much soap.

Is conditioner really necessary?
A conditioner can increase volume, shine, and help to avoid knots.
It can help your hair to recover from coloring or bleaching.
You can think of a conditioner as a kind of filler that restores the hair from damage.
Because the ingredients of shampoo and conditioner are not always fitting well together, it is important to rinse really well before applying the conditioner
The 2-in-1 or 3-in-1 products are always slightly less effective as a single and a separate shampoo conditioner as they are always a compromise, but they certainly add value to a simple hair shampoo..
Is expensive shampoo better than a cheap one?
Often shampoo contains the same basic ingredients. There are over expensive and cheap versions with no much difference than a smell or color. If you want a whole gentle, natural shampoo with minimal synthetic additives, then you probably will have to be prepared to pay a bit more..
