Hair Removal

Hair Removal
The ancient Egyptians and Romans already did. Sometimes hair removal had  a religious background: Egyptian priests were shaving themselves as a “cleansing” for their gods. Sometimes aesthetic reasons played a role: Female slaves were a better asset with a soft and smooth skin. And often the reason was simply practical and hygienic: shaving was the best way to avoid or get rid of  an annoying infection of lice or fleas.

Little has changed as people are still removing hair for various reasons. Wether they think it is better, think it is more hygienic or because of their belief prescribes it, or as part of a makeover.  And today you can choose several ways and options to remove unwanted hair: choose for temporary or permanent hair removal.  Methods to remove hair are diverging from the more conventional methods as shaving and the use of conventional resins to the more recent modern inventions such as laser hair removal and IPL.

A lot of people suffer from excessive hair growth, the phenomenon that in certain areas of their body hair grows longer and thicker than is normally the case. This is not only very unpractical, but also can cause emotional problems. Causes can lie in a genetic predisposition, but also in the use of certain medications, disturbances in the hormone balance or as suffering from certain diseases.  For most of these people it is a must to get rid of the excessive hair grow.

Today hair in certain spots is considered as not very esthetic and hygienic. Not only for men who traditionally were prone for face hair removal, but also for women. More than ninety percent of the ladies regularly use razor, razor blade, tweezers, wax or other removal products. The underarms, bikini and legs are almost compulsory nowadays. And with respect to all the new technologies, the electric razor is still the most popular hair removal instrument used today.

How long will hair take to grow back?
It may take several weeks before it grows back again depending on the method used. Also the costs can vary greatly. Other factors are the place on your body and your own metabolism. And it obviously depends on the method you used. If you remove the hair with the follicle, as in plucking or resins, the course takes longer than if you use a razor and leave the follicle intact (being the least painful and easiest way).

Some hair removal methods, such as a laser or IPL treatment, are even designed to permanently eliminate hair. This is done by destroying the hair follicle. Although quite a bit more expensive, the effects are very long lasting. Even some advertising promising 100% warranty, our experiences say that there is a chance of a weak regrowth over a longer period of time.
